A small royal burgh providing an introduction to Scottish domestic life in the 16th and 17th centuries. The Palace, built between 1597–1611, features decorative painted woodwork and original interiors.

David Livingstone Centre

Scotland's most famous explorer and missionary was born here in Shuttlerow in 1813. The museum tells the story of Livingstone's explorations in Africa and is home to a wide range of his personal belongings and travel aids, including diaries, navigational equipment and even the famous red shirt he was wearing when he met the journalist H M Stanley.

Falkland Palace

This Renaissance building was the country residence of the Stewart kings
and queens, built between 1501 and 1541.

A 40 acre garden and estate with woodland, parkland, farmland and open
heath. The Mansion House is not open to the public. Play Hickory Golf at the Hill of Tarvit.

A fine example of the domestic architecture of Lowland Scotland. Restored around 1878, it contains magnificent plaster ceilings.
