OLD FARM, STRAWBERRY HILL*

In 1836 the Government Resident at Albany, Sir Richard Spencer, built this two-storey stone house on the site of the colony’s first farm. Government Farm had been established at Strawberry Hill in 1827 as part of the first European settlement at King George Sound. Little wonder it was later called ‘The Old Farm’.
