Built in 1879, the building measures approximately 63 feet across the front.
The two-storey section at the front goes back 27 feet, and behind is a large
warehouse section measuring 78 x 63 feet. The building now houses a
museum.

Glencoe Woolshed

Edward and Robert Leake founded the Glencoe Station in 1844, naming it
after a Scottish town famous for the massacre of 1692. The shearing shed is unique as it was never converted to mechanised shearing and it is set
up as a museum of original and historic blade shearing and wool handling
processes.

Keith 1910 Congregational Church Heritage Street, Keith

Built in 1910 as a community project, voluntary labour used local stone to
construct the Church. It has a corrugated galvanised iron gable-ended roof with small ventilators near the apex, and stone quoins dress the
random rubble stonework.

Keith Early Settler’s Cottage Heritage Street, Keith

Built by William Davis in 1894, the cottage is constructed of local limestone and consists of two bedrooms, a parlour, and a kitchen.

Cape Jaffa Lighthouse Marine Parade, Kingston

The Lighthouse was officially opened in 1872 with an automatic light
replacing the keeper in 1973. The National Trust re-erected the lighthouse in 1976 using original materials and specifications.

The Kingston National Trust Museum features many items connected with
local history, including shipping and drainage records, photographs, articles telecommunication, horse drawn vehicles as well as agricultural and
domestic displays. The whole area has recently been reorganised for better viewing and convenience.

Millicent Museum Mt Gambier Road, Millicent

The Millicent National Trust Museum began in 1960 in the first primary school in Millicent built in 1873. Major displays include 25 fully
restored buggies, carriages and wagons, a large machinery shed, beautiful gowns, Millicent history, the Shipwreck Room and Aboriginal deep cave
art replicas. The centre displays a collection of horse-drawn vehicles, a maritime room, a farming collection, a museum depicting rural life from
the 1960s, and a collection of replica aboriginal cave art.

Mount Gambier Courthouse Museum Bay Road, Mt Gambier

Work began on the pink dolomite stone courthouse in 1864. There have been a number of additions to the building, including: a fence erected in
1869; a verandah constructed in 1871; a new wing in 1878; and gas lighting which replaced kerosene lamps in 1892.

Mundulla Hotel

Hotel in 19th Century building, built in the 1870s. Used as a store and post office until 1884 when a hotel licence was obtained. Used as a hotel
until 1912, then as a general store and then residence until 1959. Reopened as the Old Mundulla Hotel in 1994.

Petticoat Lane Properties, Penola Petticoat Lane represents the oldest residential area of Penola. The Petticoat Lane
Heritage Area includes Gammon Cottage, Display Gardens, The Rectory (now a bed and breakfast), Petticoat Lane Herb Garden, Wilson Cottage
(featuring a napery) and Sharam’s Cottage.
Robe CSIRO Research Station

The CSIRO field station operated between 1935 and 1976, and was the site of research on pasture trace minerals deficiency in the diet of local
sheep. In 1956 abnormal levels of radioactive iodine were identified in sheep, and this was attributed to the fallout from tests at
Maralinga.

Robe Customs House Royal Circus, Robe

Built in 1863 of limestone with brick quoins, Customs House is a curiously
shaped five-sided building with a panoramic view of Guichen Bay and the
surrounding countryside.

The Sheep’s Back Museum McDonnell Street, Naracoorte

The building was constructed in 1870 as a flourmill and operated using water from the Naracoorte Creek, processing grain from Kingston and Robe.
It is now an award-winning museum of the wool industry.

Sheriff Reserve Burkas Road, 4km northeast of Naracoorte
Access: The Reserve can be accessed from Naracoorte via Cadgee Road,
then 600m down Burkas Road which borders the Reserve on the north.
Open forest with dense bracken understorey. Features several large black
wattle (Acacia mearnsii). Conserves a remnant woodland within an area
which has been predominantly cleared for agriculture. Acts as a wildlife
refuse for a wide range of native fauna. A significant remnant of an
environmental association of which only 5% remains in the Hundred of
Naracoorte. 50 indigenous species have been recorded including 5 native
orchids and possibly an Acacia species which is rated as vulnerable for SA
and SE. The reserve is contiguous with remnant vegetation to the west.
Fauna surveys have recorded 24 species of birds, 5 species of mammals, 2 species of amphibians and 2 species of reptiles. The reserve hosts a
small population of sugar glider (Petaurus breviceps) which is rated as vulnerable for SA and SE.
