From the establishment of the first cemetery in 1829 to the closure of the seven cemeteries in 1899 almost all of the people, who died in Perth, from the wealthy and prominent to the poor or unknown, were buried at East Perth. The remaining headstones tell of bravery, tragedy, illness and accident; of success and suffering.

FREMANTLE ARTILLERY DRILL HALL – Fly By Night Musicians Club
1 Holdsworth Street, Fremantle
Built in 1895/6, the Hall provided facilities for the town’s volunteer artillery corps and was used continuously for military purposes for 100 years. The Fly By Night Musicians’ Club was established in the building in 1986 as an America’s Cup project and is today a key part of the Fremantle arts and music scene. KEP TRACK
Mundaring Weir to Northam

Cyclists, walkers and equestrians are invited to enjoy this 75km trail which runs mainly on old rail reserve between Mundaring Weir Hotel and Northam. Passing from open farmland through to jarrah forests of the Perth Hills, users can choose to be an “end to ender” or just take an hour or two out of their busy schedule. NO 1 PUMP STATION

No 1 Pump Station is at the base of the Mundaring Weir. It was once the starting point for water’s long journey to the Goldfields – the beginning of the Goldfields Water Supply Scheme, CY O’Connor’s “scheme of madness”. Today it is the starting point for a new journey, the Golden Pipeline Heritage Trail. No 1 Pump Station is a place where the building speaks and machines tell stories of the past. O’CONNOR TRACK

This 5.3 km trail takes approximately 2 and a half hours. It follows the historic rail formation from Mundaring Weir Hall to the former No 2 Pump Station and then returns through some delightful jarrah forest and a short section of the renowned Bibbulmum Track. It includes a lookout with great views over Mundaring Weir.

PENINSULA FARM (TRANBY)

Constructed by Joseph Hardey in 1839, Tranby was the third house built on Peninsular Farm. As the site of one of the first farms and the earliest residence still standing in the metropolitan area, it offers a unique opportunity to explore the first years of European settlement in Western Australia. WEIR WALK

This trail is part of the Golden Pipeline and will help you explore the fascinating history and remarkable feats of engineering involved in
building of Mundaring Weir and the Goldfields Water Supply Scheme. Approximately 2 kms long, it will take around 1 hour to complete. The trail takes you across the weir wall and on a section of the original railway zigzag. Join the trail at any point along its route. Starting point No 1 Pumping Station. WOODBRIDGE

Woodbridge, with its iron lace work, parquetry, polished jarrah, tessellated tile floors, and many pieces of original furniture, is a rare surviving example of a grand 19th century home. Built by Charles Harper in 1883, its billiard room was the first home of Guildford Grammar School.
