Hacienda Buena Vista

Hacienda Buena Vista is a 19th century coffee plantation and corn mill located in the city of Ponce on the southern part of the Island. The Hacienda has been rebuilt and the land, buildings and machinery are fine examples of Puerto Rico’s natural, cultural and technological heritage. Admission by reservation only.

The lighthouse (el faro) is the second oldest in a system of lighthouses built by the Spanish colonial government. The Reserve is one of the most important natural areas on the Island, located in Fajardo, a coastal town on the northeastern part of the Island; habitat to migratory and shore birds as well endangered species such the osprey and the sea turtle. A significant feature is the bioluminescent Laguna Grande fringed with mangroves. Admission by reservation only.

Headquarters of the Conservation Trust and an important historic house in Puerto Rico. Birthplace of Don Ramón Power y Giralt born in 1775, the first representative for Puerto Rico in the Spanish Courts. The meticulously restored 18th century house includes a resource centre with an interactive multimedia exhibition. The house is located in Old San Juan, the capital city of Puerto Rico.
