ABOUT THE NATIONAL TRUST OF ZIMBABWE

The National Trust was established in 1960 by Act of Parliament and  IT IS ABOUT THE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF OUR HERITAGE. It is modelled on similar lines to that of England, Wales and Northern Ireland with the object of holding and maintaining any properties in trust for the benefit and enjoyment of all the people of Zimbabwe. This includes not only the preservation and protection of lands and buildings of national archaeological, historical or aesthetic interest, but natural resources, animal and bird life, trees and flora. The list can be extended to incorporate objects and collections of interest as defined above. Also works of art, stamps and literature. This is available to the public for purposes of recreation, entertainment, resort or instruction.
